▼SilverStream Stiletto Development Log Vol.3

The Role of the 95 Stiletto

Through extensive testing of Proto No.3, the 95 Stiletto has finally reached completion after a long development process.

In addition to the original performance goals—high sensitivity for inducing bites and the ability to execute delicate lure presentations—the rod now incorporates a bending profile designed to reliably land fish.
These elements come together to define the finished form of the 95 Stiletto.

The 95 Stiletto is primarily designed for fishing from mid-river sections to estuaries and small rocky shorelines, where reading subtle changes in current and carefully positioning the lure is key.
To support this approach, the guide setting was intentionally downsized to further enhance sensitivity. By balancing operability, sensitivity, and response at a high level, the rod is designed to remain a dependable main rod across a wide range of seasons and patterns.

100 Stiletto – Test Report

In parallel with testing the 95 Stiletto Proto No.3, development of the 100 Stiletto also began in earnest.
The 100 Stiletto was created to address situations that could not be fully covered by the 95, based on repeated field testing. In that sense, it can be viewed as a long-length counterpart—similar in concept to a hypothetical Proto No.4 evolved from Proto No.3.

Like the 95, the 100 Stiletto is built on a blank using the latest carbon material. However, it is not simply an extended version. Instead, it was designed as a clearly situation-specific model, with a focused purpose.

Key design targets include:

  • Securing long-distance casting performance

  • Power fighting around tetrapods and bridge piers

  • Effectively handling large-bait patterns

The 100 Stiletto is intended for expansive fields such as open estuary areas, rocky shores, and surf zones. It is designed for actively covering wide areas while aggressively working sinking pencils, jigs, relatively large minnows, and strong-vibration wake baits.

While the 95 Stiletto is a model built to read the current and induce bites, the 100 Stiletto is designed to actively engage fish and maintain control.
Emphasis is placed on lure action capable of large movements, strong appeal, high casting distance, and the lifting power needed to retain control throughout the fight.

At the same time, the 100 Stiletto is not tuned as a simple power rod. By leveraging the stiffness and fast recovery inherent to high-modulus materials, it retains the sharp operability and sensitivity characteristic of the Stiletto series.
This balance allows anglers to freely manipulate lures even in strong currents, then quickly lift and land fish once hooked—enabling an aggressive, attack-oriented style of fishing.

If the 95 Stiletto represents the core of the series for reading currents and delicately inducing bites, the 100 Stiletto serves as a situational trump card, specializing in long-distance casting, large-bait patterns, and the lifting power required to take control.

With each model fulfilling a clearly defined role, the Stiletto series has evolved into a lineup capable of handling any field and any scenario.

By selecting the appropriate rod for the conditions, anglers can more precisely translate their intent to the lure and reliably land each fish they hook.
The Stiletto series is a new seabass rod lineup that embodies Ripple Fisher’s philosophy of practical, field-driven design.
