2026 New Product Introduction

A new PE4-class Medium Heavy model joins the Ripple Fisher Rock Shore lineup.
Designed specifically for modern high-pressure fields, this model pursues a dedicated design that fully brings out the control, precision, and power unique to baitcasting tackle.

Development Background of the RE 100BMH

Modern rock shore fishing has become increasingly demanding.
As fishing pressure continues to rise, the ability to choose the right approach and execute each cast with precision now determines success or failure.

To overcome these conditions, anglers are increasingly required to fish more technically—frequently relying on small diving pencils, minnows, and sinking pencils rather than power-oriented lures.
Approaches are no longer limited to visible targets such as reef tops, current seams, or edges.
Today’s rock shore game demands the accuracy to pinpoint invisible underwater structures—subtle bottom contours, breaks, and terrain changes that cannot be seen from the surface.

Every rock shore angler has experienced it:
The fish are there, yet they simply won’t commit.

In these situations, we believe that the fast-paced action of a spinning tackle alone is not enough.
To sense unseen structure, carefully work a wide range of lures, and apply pressure with intention and patience, a baitcasting setup specialized for technical control becomes essential.

At the same time, in pelagic casting, lever-drag reels—commonly considered the standard—are not well suited for small topwater plugs, metal jigs, lightweight minnows, and sinking pencils. Ironically, these lures are often the most effective precisely when conditions are toughest, making their usage frequency undeniably higher.

With this in mind, we pursued optimal compatibility with medium-sized round baitcasting reels and 400-size low-profile reels, enabling these lures to be handled with high accuracy and stability.

Even for rock shore anglers who primarily rely on spinning tackle, this model offers trouble-free handling, while the refined line control unique to baitcasting allows anglers to consciously create distance, timing, and feeding opportunities.

The RE 100BMH was born as a highly technical solution—
a hidden weapon designed to break through deadlock situations and open new possibilities when conventional approaches reach their limits.

The RunnerExceed 100BMH is a technical baitcasting model developed with the concept of further expanding the possibilities of bait-style fishing in rock shore environments.

Rather than simply pursuing raw power, the design places emphasis on performance that allows anglers to actively control lures and “fish with intent.”
Its goal is to establish a wide variety of lure approaches at a consistently high level, even under demanding conditions.

The blank is constructed using high-modulus materials, delivering a light, crisp swing and pronounced backbone.
This high level of stiffness translates directly into sharp input response, allowing plugs and jigs to be worked precisely, while also generating exceptional sensitivity—capable of detecting subtle differences in resistance caused by lure posture changes or water pressure.

By accurately transmitting a wide range of information to the angler’s hand, the 100BMH provides more feedback and clearer decision-making on the rock shore.

Casting performance was also pursued without compromise.
While large lever-drag reels are commonly selected for rock shore baitcasting, the RunnerExceed 100BMH is designed around 400-size medium-class baitcasting reels as its baseline.

The combination of a trouble-free, user-friendly reel setup and a blank engineered to swing through with ideal tackle balance results in excellent castability, refined casting feel, and stable distance.
Beyond pure distance, another key feature is its exceptional control, allowing anglers to accurately deliver lures along their intended line and into precise targets.

Bending Curve Comparison of the RE 100BMH

We begin with a comparison of three Rock Shore models under a static load of 1 kg.

Although these three models cover a wide power range from PE2 to PE6, the differences in bending are influenced primarily by rod length rather than by fundamentally different bending characteristics. In other words, while the amount of deflection varies, the nature of the bend itself does not differ drastically between models.

This is the result of a design philosophy that allows the entire blank to respond smoothly from the low-load range, making it easy for anglers to feel the load all the way through to the grip.
By allowing the rod to bend naturally even under light load, the series achieves excellent ease of use, clean swing-through, and reduced casting trouble—regardless of power class.

Within this lineup, the 100BMH stands out by combining a high level of crispness with exceptional follow-through from the tip to the belly section.
Its fast response to input enables smooth transitions throughout casting, lure operation, and fighting fish, making it one of the most user-friendly baitcasting models in the Ripple Fisher lineup.

The table above shows a comparison of rod bending under static loads up to 3 kg.

The 100BMH is designed for targets in the 5–10 kg class and is characterized by its high level of follow-through.
However, it is important to note that this comparison illustrates bending under static load only. In actual fishing situations, the core of the 100BMH lies in its crisp, responsive operation, made possible by its strong backbone and sharp recovery.

For comparison, the 107BH is engineered for targets up to the 15 kg class and retains the robust power expected of an H-class rod from the belly through the butt section.
In challenging scenarios—such as shallow zones, rough reef structures, or fast-flowing current—it delivers powerful lifting capability, allowing the angler to maintain control all the way through landing. It is a true high-power model designed to dominate difficult situations.

In contrast, the 100BMH occupies a Medium Heavy class that balances the finesse and operability demanded by today’s high-pressure fields.
It allows anglers to clearly feel subtle changes in jig and plug posture through the hand, while creating deliberate feeding opportunities through the direct, precise control unique to baitcasting tackle.

Despite its excellent follow-through, the 100BMH is not simply “soft.”
Its defining characteristic is the ability to input sharp, decisive actions supported by a strong sense of stiffness, making it a rod that combines sensitivity, control, and responsiveness at a very high level.

In addition, under a static load of 5 kg, reference comparisons are also made with the spinning models 95TC and 103H.

Positioned in the same PE4-class, the 95TC is a model designed to tackle difficult, high-pressure fields—such as calm, windless conditions and clear water—where precision and finesse are critical.
Its outstanding responsiveness to subtle input and the rich amount of feedback transmitted from the lure are key characteristics, enabling a highly refined, hook-driven style of fishing at an advanced level.

In contrast, while the 100BMH shares a similar conceptual foundation with the 95TC, it places its core emphasis on the direct operational feel unique to baitcasting tackle.
By slightly reinforcing the butt section, the 100BMH also provides sufficient power reserves to maintain control and enjoy the fight even when unexpectedly facing fish in the 10 kg class.

Rather than being just another PE4-class baitcasting rod, it features a power balance designed to deliver both delicate operability and confidence against larger fish, offering a sense of margin and security in demanding situations.

If the 95TC is a rod that leverages the speed and reactivity inherent to spinning tackle to aggressively dominate fast-paced game scenarios, then the 100BMH is a strategic model that fully exploits the direct feel and precision control of baitcasting tackle—sharpened specifically for anglers who aim to target and land fish with intent.

In Closing

The PE4-class 100BMH represents a core power class demanded across rock shore fields throughout Japan.

By handling this class with the direct operational feel unique to baitcasting tackle, and pairing it with 400-size round baitcasting reels or low-profile reels, anglers can fully utilize subtle inputs to deliberately create the precise timing that triggers strikes.
There are situations where this slight difference in spacing and timing clearly separates success from failure—and those moments undeniably exist in real-world fishing.

Target species include yellowtail, amberjack, and greater amberjack, as well as an expanding range of southern species such as trevallies and groupers that have become more prevalent in recent years.
The 100BMH supports flexible lure selection tailored to these targets—…not only standard pelagic lures like topwater plugs and metal jigs, but also more specialized options.

These include skating-style topwater plugs, subsurface wake baits, jointed plugs around 100 g, and jig heads in the 30–100 g range.
Even such situational, high-impact lures can be controlled at a high level, as baitcasting tackle excels in line control—making it easier to create intentional feeding windows and execute precise presentations.

The 100BMH is not simply a power rod.
It is a technical baitcasting model designed to “control and catch”, balancing the strategic advantages that only baitcasting tackle can offer with the ability to close distance using a wide variety of lures.

In today’s ever-changing rock shore environments, it is a rod that unites the fun of baitcasting, the strategic depth unique to this approach, and the performance required to consistently achieve results.
