After a long development period, the SilverStream Stiletto MX series was officially released at the end of March 2026.
The SilverStream Stiletto MX is a series that clearly stands apart from conventional seabass rods. It is not a high-performance rod designed for ease of use by everyone.
As the name suggests, it is a truly “Masters Exclusive” rod.
However, it reveals its true value under demanding conditions—offering precise control that directly translates the angler’s intent to the lure, along with exceptional sensitivity and responsiveness to seize even the briefest opportunities.
By approaching each field and situation with both precision and aggression, anglers can unlock its full potential. This is a rod that truly chooses its user.
At fishing shows and casting events held across various regions, many anglers had the opportunity to handle the rod and experience its casting feel and bending characteristics firsthand. Through these interactions, we received a wide range of questions.
In this blog, we have compiled answers to some of the most frequently asked questions. We hope you find it helpful.
Question. 1 Recommended casting weight
The lure weight specified for each model is set based on a weight that allows anglers to cast with confidence, even under demanding conditions such as headwinds or strong winds, where additional load is applied to the rod.
Even lures that exceed the stated maximum may be usable depending on casting technique and environmental conditions.
Below are some examples of lure weights used during testing. Please use them as a general reference only.
■ Lures Used During Testing (Minimum Weight)
Minnow 80 mm / 9.5 g
Sinking Pencil 62 mm / 7.8 g
Topwater 70 mm / 8.2 g
Vibration 52 mm / 8.5 g
■ Lures Used During Testing (Maximum Weight)
Minnow 142 mm / 27 g
Shad 90 mm / 29.3 g
Sinking Pencil 120 mm / 30 g
*In some cases, heavier lures were used during testing to evaluate the rod’s limits.

The 81 Stiletto MX is a model within the series that particularly emphasizes balance and operability.
It performs exceptionally well with lures that require active manipulation, such as topwater and shad-type lures, while also excelling in more technical situations like micro bait patterns using small-profile lures, as well as vibration lures used in shrimp patterns.
By leveraging its high responsiveness, even subtle inputs from the angler are directly transmitted to the lure, providing a significant advantage in technical fishing scenarios.
Our staff recommends pairing it with topwater and sinking pencil lures around 15 g, as well as minnows and shads in the 10–20 g range.
These combinations best showcase the control and operability of the 81 Stiletto MX.
■ Lures Used During Testing (Minimum Weight)
Vibration 55 mm / 10 g
Minnow 90 mm / 11 g
Sinking Pencil 85 mm / 13.5 g
Topwater 90 mm / 12 g
■ Lures Used During Testing (Maximum Weight)
Minnow 156 mm / 39 g
Wakebait 156 mm / 40 g
Sinking Pencil 95 mm / 40 g
*In some cases, heavier lures were used during testing to evaluate the rod’s limits.

The 95 Stiletto MX is a highly versatile model capable of adapting to a wide range of fishing patterns, making it effective throughout all seasons.
It features a very firm blank, allowing for solid casting performance with lures up to around 40 g. However, the true strength of this model lies in its refined sensitivity during retrieve.
Through the synergy between the blank’s performance and the small-diameter guide setting, it clearly transmits lure movement and subtle changes in the water, regardless of current strength.
This makes it especially suitable for anglers who frequently fish at night or rely on drift techniques.
Our staff highly recommends pairing it with minnows and sinking pencils in the 15–30 g range, as this combination allows anglers to fully experience the performance of the 95 Stiletto MX.
■ Lures Used During Testing (Minimum Weight)
Minnow 110 mm / 12 g
Topwater 88 mm / 14 g
Vibration 77 mm / 15 g
■ Lures Used During Testing (Maximum Weight)
Wakebait 190 mm / 50 g
S-shaped Jointed Plug 156 mm / 51 g
Jig / Jig Minnow 60 g
*In some cases, heavier lures were used during testing to evaluate the rod’s limits.

The 100 Stiletto MX is a model recommended for anglers targeting relatively large bait patterns, as well as those who prioritize long casting distance in areas such as surf zones and estuaries.
While it can handle lighter lures without stress, it truly comes into its own when used with lures over 20 g.
Taking advantage of its long casting performance and stable, precise control, it allows anglers to cover a wide area while accurately tracing their intended line.
Our staff recommends pairing it with minnows and sinking pencils in the 20–40 g range, as well as wakebaits and topwater plugs around 45 g.
It delivers outstanding performance in power-oriented situations targeting large bait patterns such as konoshiro (gizzard shad) and sardines.
Question. 2 Recommended Rod Angle During the Fight
As the Stiletto MX series utilizes ultra high-modulus carbon (40t and above), we have received some concerns such as, “Is it better not to bend the rod too much?”
The ultra high-modulus carbon used in the Stiletto MX series features excellent elongation properties, allowing the rod to be safely bent when used within the proper angle.
During testing, the rods were bent under load while fighting species such as yellowtail (yazu/nerigo) and even stingrays, with no instances of breakage or damage observed.
The key is to avoid lifting the rod excessively.
In particular, during landing situations such as wading or when fishing from elevated positions, excessive load tends to concentrate on the tip to mid-section. This can prevent the rod from performing as intended and may lead to damage, so please exercise caution.
Question. 3 Is it easy to miss bites?
This is a common concern and can be considered one of the challenges associated with rods made from ultra high-modulus materials.
In low-activity conditions, there may be situations where the hooking rate differs compared to rods specifically designed to “load and hold” the bite. However, during our testing, there were no cases where bites were lost due to the rod rejecting the strike and failing to convert into a catch.
Of course, this may vary depending on the angler’s perception and usage conditions, but the rod is fully capable of achieving solid hooksets.
Additionally, with its high sensitivity to detect subtle pre-bite signals and its quick response for immediate hooksets, the Stiletto MX series is designed as a “hooking-oriented” rod.
It is a series that rewards the angler’s skill.
Question. 4 Is the wood reel seat made from natural wood?
All reel seats used in the Stiletto MX series are made from natural wood.
As a natural material, each piece will have slight variations in grain, color, and minor surface characteristics. We hope you will enjoy the unique character and individuality of each piece, as no two are exactly alike.
After use, we recommend rinsing with fresh water and allowing it to dry thoroughly.
With proper care, you can maintain the natural texture and appearance of the wood for a long time.
In summary, we have introduced answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.
If you have any further inquiries, please feel free to contact us at any time.
